West Ham United are set to face Leicester City tonight, and Julen Lopetegui has selected his starting XI for the game.
Julen Lopetegui is on the brink at West Ham right now it seems, and could be sacked if results don’t improve quickly.
The Spaniard has overseen some absolute shockers this season already, most recently on Saturday when we were humbled at the London Stadium by Arsenal.
And now we need to see a really big reaction from the players.
It’s all well and good criticising Lopetegui, but the players have a lot to answer for as well.
So will we see them bounce back at the King Power Stadium tonight?
West Ham starting XI vs Leicester confirmed
Nothing less than a win will do tonight, I think we can all agree on that.
Lopetegui will be seriously under pressure if the end result is anything other than a Hammers win.
Here’s how the Spaniard has set his team up for the clash with the Foxes, as confirmed via the club’s official X account.
Lukasz Fabianski, Vladimir Coufal, Konstantinos Mavropanos, Max Kilman, Aaron Wan-Bissaka, Tomas Soucek, Edson Alvarez, Carlos Soler, Mohammed Kudus, Jarrod Bowen, Danny Ings
That’s a really strange lineup, but I’m still expecting all of our key men to give a good account of themselves tonight.
It must be said, the decision to start Kudus is a very big call. I guess there is no such thing as earning your place back anymore.
That said, he is a special player and he makes us far more dangerous when he plays.
And the fact he is starting Ings as a solo striker is bizarre to me, as is the call to leave our Paqueta.
As poor as the Hammers have been this season, Leicester have been even worse.
The Foxes should be there for the taking tonight if our players are on it.
The West Ham starting XI selected by Julen Lopetegui should still have enough to get the win that we so desperately need.
I’m going for a 2-1 Hammers win, COYI X
