Jason Cundy has raved about the performance of Cole Palmer against Tottenham and highlighted how good his dribbling ability is.
The current Chelsea squad is filled with so many brilliant attacking players and they are all contributing with the Blues the top scorers in the league with 35 goals from 15 games.
Chelsea currently sit second in the Premier League four points behind leaders Liverpool who have a game in hand, whilst they are two clear of Arsenal in third and four ahead of Manchester City in fourth.
Cundy amazed by the dribbling ability of Palmer
Despite adding Jadon Sancho, Pedro Neto and Joao Felix in the summer Palmer is still very much Chelsea’s main man.
The 22-year-old has 11 goals and six assists in 15 games this season, and after going three games without a goal contribution he now has four goals in his last three games.
Palmer was instrumental as Chelsea came from 2-0 down to beat Tottenham 4-3 on Sunday as he scored twice from the penalty spot and played a big role in the third goal scored by Enzo Fernandez.
The England international showed such composure for his second penalty as he scored a Panenka, with Axel Disasi claiming he knew Palmer would do it.
Former Blue Cundy was really impressed by Palmer, particularly with his dribbling ability, which was highlighted by his role in Chelsea’s third goal.
“There is no doubt about it, the boy is special,” he told talkSPORT.
“Even when he doesn’t have his greatest games, he still has an influence on the game.
“The way he chops and drops the shoulder. He’s a big lad, he’s a tall boy, he’s still so nimble. When he goes and drops, he manages to twist and turn. He’s got such control of the ball. He dips his shoulder and goes.”
The game seems to come so naturally to Palmer and he excels in so many aspects of it, but his dribbling is arguably one of his strongest points.
Palmer isn’t in the Conference League squad so will have the night off on Thursday against Astana, before returning to the team for Sunday’s game against Brentford at Stamford Bridge.
