Chelsea would reportedly definitely be interested in signing one top Premier League defender as they are thrown into the mix this week.
First of all, former Blues winger Pat Nevin was discussing this potential transfer earlier in the week and has recommended Chelsea push to try and sign him.

He suggested Everton’s Jarrad Branthwaite as the potential ‘final piece of the jigsaw’ at Chelsea, and he isn’t the only one to make such a suggestion either.
Branthwaite has been a real breakthrough defender in recent seasons and that has led him to get his first England cap as well. And now interest has been coming in from bog clubs such as Manchester United as well.
Former Manchester City defender Richard Dunne believes the player is now ready to make that big step up to a top club, and he believes Chelsea would be interested in signing him.
Dunne rates Branthwaite
Dunne, who also played for Everton as well as City, spoke to LondonWorld about Branthwaite’s future following heavy interest from Manchester United. The pundit believes the 22-year-old is destined for a move higher up in the Premier League and believes Chelsea would be keen on snapping him up in 2025.
“I don’t have any concerns about his ability to play for a club that are expected to win more football games than they lose and challenge for titles. Jarrad Branthwaite can definitely operate at the top end of the table in the Premier League,” Dunne said.
“I think a few clubs will be looking at him. If Manchester United’s interest has moved on with all of the changes that are happening at the club, then I think a team like Chelsea would definitely be interested in him. I think he has the right kind of profile to play for them and any if the tip four clubs.”
