West Ham are preparing for a summer squad overhaul as they look to boost their transfer budget!
Offers will be invited for Konstantinos Mavropanos, Emerson, Guido Rodríguez, and Niclas Füllkrug—while the club is also set to pass on permanent deals for Carlos Soler and Evan Ferguson.
Nothing new there I guess but it does beg the question as to why Ferguson was even signed in the first place since he is clearly surplus to Graham Potters requirements.
Quite how much the club expect to pocket from the fire-sale is anyone’s guess but looking at that list it won’t be much. One would expect a maximum of £30m for all four players but given the revelation about Rodriguez’s £100k + wages, I doubt he’ll leave without a pay-off.
West Ham paid big money for Fullkrug who has spent almost an entire season injured and at 32 years of age is unlikely to generate too much of a transfer fee. Emerson and Mavropanos could fetch as much as £10m each and of course there is Maxwel Cornet.
But West Ham could find themselves in the unenviable position of struggling to sell AND sign players in a summer transfer window which is becoming increasingly important.
