Pochettino emerges as leading candidate to succeed Postecoglou at Tottenham
With the end of the season approaching, Ange Postecoglou’s time at Tottenham seems to be coming to an end. Spurs endured their 15th Premier League loss of the season after a 2-0 defeat away to Fulham at Craven Cottage, where Postecoglou also had a confrontation with one fan after the match.
Unless the Australian can bring home the UEFA Europa League trophy, Postecoglou could be gone after two seasons. Moreover, an image of Daniel Levy meeting with Mauricio Pochettino has also led to speculation around a change of manager, but a former Spurs employee would prefer not to bring back Pochettino.
It seems that Daniel Levy has enough candidates on hand to consider appointing someone else to replace Postecoglou. If reports are to be believed, then candidates such as Andoni Iraola, Marco Silva, and Thomas Frank may be considered. However, the emergence of photos taken of Pochettino recently now makes him the apparent front-runner.
Spurs Journo, Bryan King does not want the Argentine anywhere near N-17
Former Spurs scout Bryan King has made it clear that he wants nothing to do with a Pochettino return. Speaking exclusively to Tottenham News, King dismissed the idea outright, stating he wouldn’t welcome the Argentine back even if they were family.
He criticised Pochettino for fueling speculation himself rather than Tottenham initiating any contact. King also pointed out the manager’s struggles at Chelsea and downplayed his Ligue 1 title with PSG, questioning its significance. He further ridiculed the ongoing rumours, calling them “fantasy football,” while reminding fans that Pochettino’s trophy record at Spurs remains empty.
“Don’t give me that nonsense. This is him saying all this stuff, it isn’t Tottenham. He just got a job managing the USA, but it seems he isn’t content with that. He got the job at Chelsea and messed that up. He won the league with Paris Saint-Germain, oh how amazing. Who hasn’t won the league with PSG?
“Whoever is putting these stories out about Pochettino, it is fantasy football. How many cups did Pochettino win again? Can you remind me, what did he win?”

Pochettino remains arguably Tottenham’s most successful manager of the Premier League era, and despite some reservations, many supporters would welcome his return. However, with Postecoglou still at the helm, discussions about a comeback remain just a rumour for now.
