The forward came on for Albania against England on Friday night and made a big impact
It may have only been a cameo at Wembley. Armando Broja was able to offer a reminder of what he’s capable of though.
The Everton forward was introduced as a second-half substitute for Albania against England. While his side eventually slumped to a 2-0 win, the forward was able to sparkle with a few surging runs.
Broja twice did brilliantly to outmuscle and outrun Three Lions debutant Dan Burn and give his side a powerful outlet. Evertonians were naturally delighted to see the bite back in the striker’s game after a couple of months sidelined due to injury.

Speaking after the game, the 23-year-old said he was delighted to be back on the pitch and offered an insight into his injury frustrations and recovery, per Koha.
“We knew it would be difficult. England is a high level team, with France, Belgium, Holland, Spain,” he said. “We know they have quality because we were at their home. We had some chances to score. The team played well, we had the chance not to concede the two goals. They were not goals from dangerous situations. One was a pass behind the back and the other a cross to the far post. If we improve a few things, we can also be at a higher level.”
“It’s been a tough period for me, but I’m focused on my body, so that I have a better chance of not getting injured again. Today I’m happy with my body and how I played. I had chances too, but another day we can take advantage of the opportunities. There are some small things that we can improve.”
“I missed the national team. I really like playing for the national team. It’s my home, my heart. The fans were wonderful, they gave us courage. I’m glad to be back with the team, with the boys. I hope to recover 100 percent and enjoy football.”
Broja arrived at Everton with an injury last summer and after making his long-awaited debut, seemed to be building some momentum when he was forced off against Peterborough United in January. He made his return from that layoff last time out for the Blues, coming off the bench in a 1-1 draw with West Ham United.
Given his lack of minutes and persistent fitness issues, the Albania striker will be desperate to make a big impression on David Moyes between now and the end of the season. The Blues do have an option to make the loan deal permanent should they choose.
