Man United will try to sign an English trio this summer; Harry Kane, Declan Rice and Mason Mount.
Erik ten Hag seemingly has huge plans for Manchester United this summer, as he looks to ensure the Red Devils are challenging for major honours on a yearly basis.
Several transfer links have already taken place, despite the fact that the club ownership still remains up in the air. Over the last 24 hours, Mason Mount’s name has heavily been mentioned by the media. A deal looks likely.
However, Sky Sports News have now weighed in on the situation. They’ve gone pretty big, claiming that United will ‘try to sign’ an English trio this summer – though it’s unlikely all three deals will be done.
The Old Trafford club want to sign Harry Kane, Declan Rice and the aforementioned Mount. Though everything depends on the impending club takeover, be it Sir Jim Ratcliffe or Sheikh Jassmin picking up the baton.
Unsurprisingly, Sky Sports say that Kane is the number one target, and the player that Ten Hag wants the most. He’s also likely to be the most expensive.
The trio are described as the type of ‘characters’ that Ten Hag wants to add to the dressing room. No doubt all three would add more than just sheer talent.
In terms of cost, it’d probably come close to £300m to bring in all three. Obviously, that’s a huge sum of money. Not only will it depend on new owners who are willing to splash the cash, but also selling players, too.
If the Reds could somehow sign two of three, they’d enter into next season feeling pretty good about their chances at continuing to move forward as a club. Kane, in particular, feels like a potential game-changer.
