The Bundesliga campaign came to a positive end for Bayern Munich as they lifted their 11th consecutive title on Saturday. Bayern won the title after clinching a 2-1 win against FC Koln, while Borussia Dortmund dropped two points against Mainz.
After a positive end to the season, the work now starts for the club chiefs to improve the squad during the summer window. Bayern also needs to secure the future of key players before the start of the season. It does look like Die Roten is on the right track in reaching an agreement with one of their promising young players.
According to SportBild’s Christian Falk (viaiMiaSanMia), Hasan Salihamidzic was in advanced talks with Alphonso Davies for a contract renewal. The contract was negotiated with Davies, and only the paperwork was left. However, Salihamidzic’s departure may lead to more negotiations with the other club chiefs at the club.
Sky Sports in Germany and Fabrizio Romano also confirmed that Bayern’s contract talks with Davies are going smoothly. Despite the interest from Real Madrid in the left-back, Die Roten is eager to secure the future of Davies.
Previously, one report in Germany had suggested that Alphonso Davies was ready to commit his future at Bayern. Meanwhile, the Bavarian club considers Davies and Jamal Musiala as the future stars of the first team. It remains to be seen how negotiations with Alphonso Davies will be affected after the departure of Hasan Salihamidzic.
Alphonso Davies has been an incredible signing for Bayern. Since arriving from Vancouver Whitecaps in 2019, Davies has made an instant impact in the first team. After being moved into the left-back position during the 2019/20 campaign, Davies has established himself as one of the best full-backs in the world.
Davies has endured an inconsistent 2022/23 season, but he still managed to score three goals and provide six assists across all competitions. He has been on the sidelines in the last few weeks due to a hamstring injury. Considering the skill set he possesses at both ends of the pitch, Davies will surely become an important player for Thomas Tuchel.

It is crucial for Bayern to renew his contract during the summer transfer window. His current deal expires in 2025. Davies is still 22, so getting him tied down to a long-term deal is a no-brainer for Rekordmeister. Along with new arrivals, the Bavarian faithful will hope to see Davies and Musiala signing new contracts during the summer.
