Ex-Red Antonio Valencia is the latest to laud Alejandro Garnacho, who continues to improve at Man United.
Manchester United Football Club has been synonymous with developing young talents and giving the next generation their platform to shine. Erik ten Hag has picked up that baton, though he’s constantly admitted these kids will have to earn their opportunities, rather than being handed them on a plate.
Only the best of the best will succeed under the Dutch gaffer. Alejandro Garnacho certainly falls into that bracket. No sooner was he in the first-team fold, the Argentine was making a positive impact.
It has been a pleasure watching Garnacho develop. Aged just nineteen, the young man still has plenty of room for growth. That has been recognised by ex-Red Antonio Valencia, who heaped the praise on the United youngster that ‘gets better every day’. Tony V definitely isn’t wrong!
Check out what Antonio Valencia had to say about Alejandro Garnacho here:
“Garnacho has raised his level. He gets better every day,” Antonio told ManUtd.com.
“I like him, and the fans want to see him play. Everybody wanted to see him come on [against Wolves at the end of last season].
“We knew he was coming off the back of an injury, but he entered the game really well.
“He took the pitch with a lot of an energy. He changed the face of the match, because he came on to cause pressure, and that’s what the team needed.”
This is just another confidence booster for Garnacho. Valencia is right, everyone wants to see him play as he always makes something happen. Yes, he’s still displaying that naivety of youth every now and then, though that’s only natural and it’s up to us fans to ensure we continue to back him.
His start to the season has been relatively quiet, but you saw his explosiveness for the ‘goal’ against Arsenal that was eventually ruled out for offside. He’s a player who’ll always look to be direct and threaten the opposition defenders with his pace and trickery.
Right now, he’s pushing Marcus Rashford for starts off that left-wing and this coming weekend, I wouldn’t be surprised to see Garna in the team on the right-hand side with that flank looking a little depleted with everything that’s going on.
