Man United are about to receive a welcome boost, with Lisandro Martinez looking like he’s now fit to play.
Manchester United Football Club have been dealing with a whole host of injuries to start this season. Whether it’s bad luck, poor training or overworking remains to be seen, though Erik ten Hag must be concerned.
The Old Trafford side lost another couple of players against Arsenal in their last game before the international break. Both Victor Lindelof and Lisandro Martinez went down with issues.
However, United have received a welcome boost in regard to Martinez, as the key man is ‘set to be fit’ for the Brighton game this weekend, according to The Metro.
The defender missed Argentina’s first match of the international break, though according to the man himself, it does look like he’s ready to play in Tuesday’s game for his country.
Check out Lisandro Martinez’s Instagram post on the news here:
‘Ready for what’s coming,’ Martinez stated on Instagram, along with accompanying Bolivia flag. That’s who Argentina take on tomorrow evening.
In an ideal world, Martinez would not be risked against Bolivia, though I understand that chances to represent your country are super limited. Hence, he’s probably desperate to play and continue to add to his cap count.
On the flip side, if he starts and plays an hour, it’s good for the all-important fitness levels for Martinez. His beginning to this campaign has been super stop-start and perhaps he needs the minutes more than the rest at this stage.
I do always worry though, particularly as South Americans have a long way back to travel in a short space of time before they’re back at it in Premier League action.
