Brazil winger Antony is now available for selection again, the club have announced.
Manchester United Football Club have had some off-field issues to deal with over the course of the summer. Obviously, Mason Greenwood is no longer here, while Jadon Sancho still remains absent. Antony is another one who has been away from the first-team fold as he fights some legal issues.
Yesterday, the winger returned to Manchester in order to co-operate with Greater Manchester Police, with the ex-Ajax man spending multiple hours with them.
Today, the club have announced that Antony is now available for selection again. He is set to return to training, presumably this weekend. This means the Crystal Palace game comes a little too soon for the right-winger, but he is now ready to play going forward.
You’d expect that Ten Hag will ease Antony back into proceedings after a few weeks away, particularly as Facundo Pellistri has been doing a stellar job in his absence.
Man United announce that Antony is set to resume training at Carrington and will be available for selection again. He won’t train today and won’t play against Crystal Palace tomorrow but he will be available going forward.

It is worth stating that the legal process remains ongoing and there has been no conclusion as of yet. However, Antony continues to aid the police by any means necessary – which is why he’s now been deemed ready for selection once again.
In their statement, United were keen to ensure that they condemn any acts of violence and abuse, so if, and it’s a big if, Antony is found guilty in future, the situation could well change. As it stands currently, the powers that be have made no legal decision either way.
