Man United legend, Peter Schmeichel, believes Harry Maguire is now undroppable.
Manchester United Football Club picked up a much-needed victory over the weekend. The Red Devils left it late to get one over on Fulham, though VAR was once again trying its best to deny us of the three points.
There was a real resilience shown by the players, despite the fact that performance was yet another sub-par one. They stuck together, kept going until the end and picked up a victory that will be a lift for the whole club.
The win would not have happened without Harry Maguire. He was an absolute monster from the first minute and it is really nice to see him receive some well-deserved praise.
After his display, the United star has been labelled ‘undroppable’ after his recent performances, with the ex-Leicester City man setting the example.
Check out what Peter Schmeichel had to say in full here:
“For me, the Man of the Match was Harry Maguire,” said Schmeichel on Premier League Productions, per Utd District. “Without him, I don’t see Man United winning this game. He’s become an example to all the players, rising up from adversity – he is undroppable for any manager now.”
For me, it was his attitude. Despite picking up an early head injury, the Englishman kept battling through and put in a Man of the Match display. He won headers galore, was great with the ball at feet and was more than willing to put his body on the line for the cause.
You could see what it meant to the fans in the stadium, while on social media, it was great to see Maguire receive some backing. Let’s be honest, he’s had a tough period among supporters but the Englishman deserved all the praise that’s heading his way.
I genuinely do believe he’s now among the first names on the team sheet. He absolutely deserves it, too. Let’s hope the excellent form can continue.
