Dan Gore will not represent England Elite as the Man United starlet is the latest to pick up an injury.
Manchester United and injuries are becoming more intertwined than we’d all like. The Old Trafford side seem to be picking up a new issue every single week. Erik ten Hag must be extremely frustrated with the way it’s playing out on that front.
Any kind of let-up in that area would be welcome, though it’s still unclear whether it’s just sheer bad luck, or something going on in training. You’d like to think it’s the former. With Rasmus Hojlund and Christian Eriksen recently going down, the international break felt like it was coming at a welcome time, in order for the club to get some players back during this fortnight hiatus.
Well, the injury bug has struck again. This time it’s Dan Gore. England have confirmed that United have been dealt another injury concern, with the young midfielder withdrawing from international duty with his problem.
The severity is still unknown, as is what the actual affected area is at this point. Gore, who had an excellent pre-season with United, while being in and around the first-team since, will not play for England Elite over the next couple of weeks.
Again, this just further adds to the Reds’ concerns at this stage of the season. Gore, who was slowly moving up the pecking order due to injuries ahead of him, is now on the casualty list himself.
Let’s hope that the 19-year-old Englishman’s problem isn’t too serious and he’s back out on the training pitch in the not too distant future.
