Man United have eyes on Montenegrin striker, Nikola Krstovic, as a possible signing.
Manchester United have struggled for goals this season. That much is obvious. The Red Devils have not scored anywhere near enough in the Premier League, though they have gotten better at grinding out wins when not at their best.
Rasmus Hojlund is 100% the future in the number nine position, though he’s yet to score in the league and it’d be unfair to believe he can shoulder the burden single-handedly. It’s why the Red Devils could look to bring in a new number nine, presumably in place of Anthony Martial.
Calciomercato throw a possible option into the ring in the form of Nikola Krstovic. The Lecce striker has scored four goals in seven Serie A appearances to start this season, causing some club’s to take note.
Inter Milan are among the frontrunners, while interest from the Premier League is also there. Calciomercato name United as a team who are keen on the 23-year-old, as they look to sign a ‘low-cost’ forward, either in January or next summer.
Krstovic is viewed as a top Montenegrin talent, while being so young in age means there’s plenty of room for future development and growth. In that sense, it could be an astute deal.
You look at the aforementioned Hojlund as the main forward for the next decade, all being well. It’s why Ten Hag isn’t looking to spend another huge sum of money on a forward, rather looking to bring someone in who can do a stellar job when Hojlund needs a rest or is out injured.
Krstovic does look like someone who could fit the bill. It’s clear that Martial’s time is running out at Old Trafford, unless by some miracle he can turn it around before the January window.
