After weeks of ‘phoney war’ with rumour after rumour spreading across media as West Ham were linked seemingly with dozens of players across Europe, it does seem for fans that finally there is action.
Co-inciding with both Graham Potter’s arrival and that of his stato-recruitment guru Kyle Macaulay, it seems that decisions have been made and West Ham are getting down to business with eleven days left in the window.
As Claret and Hugh confirmed earlier, RB Leipzig striker André Silva appears to be West Ham’s ‘back up plan’ striker in place for January.
With Evan Ferguson still ‘talking’ to Brighton about his plans ( article coming on that shortly) it may well be that the Hammers’ have decided to act rather than wait for their first choice target, simply to move forward with Silva as Graham Potter’s desperately needed striker.
Andre Silva on a six-month loan would bring in experienced firepower, at least giving the player a chance to rediscover his fine form of couple of years ago by pretty much guaranteeing him decent game time.
Indeed it appears that the backup, too, has a backup -( which makes it plan ‘C’ I think!):
Florian Pletterberg (@plettigoal) has suggested today:
‘If a move for Silva fails, Brian Brobbey (Ajax, ) is an option which WHUFC are considering’.
Brobbey (main image) has been in the news recently as a possible Marseille target to replace their own Elye Wahi who may be on his way to Eintract Frankfurt. Still following? Transfer Window Dominoes!
As a back-up to the back-up, Brobbey is a pretty decent striker with Champions’ League experience already under his belt.
Finally it would seem that the machinery is moving at London Stadium as the new recruitment duo of Kyle Macaulay along with Potter get down to business.
