Man City welcome Chelsea to the Etihad Stadium this weekend as they look to make it six games unbeaten in the Premier League.
Pep Guardiola’s side won a convincing 6-0 against Ipswich last time out in the league, but have since suffered a 4-2 defeat in the Champions League to Paris Saint-Germain.
They currently sit fifth in the Premier League table, two points off the top four. With Chelsea being fourth, City can get back into the Champions League places with a win on Saturday.
This week, they made several transfer moves, including the signing of Frankfurt attacker Omar Marmoush for £59m, who could feature against Chelsea.
They will aim to recreate their result against the Blues on the opening day of the season, when they comfortably won 2-0 at Stamford Bridge, to get their season off to the perfect start.
City face a Chelsea side, who come off the back of a 3-1 win against Wolves. However, Monday’s win over Wolves was their first Premier League victory in five games, so their recent form has been poor.
Man City made cautious favourites against Maresca’s Blues
Enzo Maresca will return to the Etihad, not beside Pep Guardiola for the first time. He bring his Chelsea side to Manchester, but the bookmakers believe that Guardiola will get the better of his former assistant.
According to Oddschecker, Man City are backed to win the game at odds of 11/10, which gives them a 47.6% chance of winning.
Meanwhile, Chelsea are backed to win at 12/5 giving them a 29.4% chance to win. A draw is backed at 31/10 (24.4%). We predict a 3-1 win for City as they re-establish themselves back in the top four.
