West Ham star considering a move
Thilo Kehrer is considering a move from West Ham.
The German international appeared last night as a sub for the injured Kurt Zouma and looked excellent at the heart of defence but afterwards he surprisingly suggested he could join Declan on his way out from the club.
Kehrer joined from Paris St Germain in the summer and had a difficult start at both central defence and right back but his game has improved dramatically as the season has gone and he would be bad player to lose.
Last night’s Cup win looks likely to keep him with us for another season as we re-enter the Europa Cup but things may become more uncertain after that.
Commenting after the game he said: “I think about it from time to time. My family lives in Germany. I’m 26 now and I don’t want to rule it out,” Kehrer informed Bild’s podcast per BuliNews.
“I’m in my first season at West Ham. But you never know what’s going to happen in the future.”
Kehrer made a potentially game-saving block during the second half of that 2-1 victory over Fiorentina; helping lay the foundations for Jarrod Bowen’s eardrum-destroying winner on the verge of stoppage time.
The prospect of Europa League football at West Ham next term should, at least, keep the Germany international in England for at least another year.
“It went haywire!” Kehrer tells BILD following arguably the greatest moment in West Ham’s modern history. “We disassembled the changing room, and then we had to clean up a bit!”
