Liverpool poach Hammers wonderkid
Liverpool are set to poach Hammers wonderkid Amara Nallo according to Fabrizio Romano.
The 16-year-old academy player operates primarily in central defence. Nallo is expected to slot straight into Liverpool’s youth teams while he continues his education and development.
Nallo signed scholarship terms alongside eleven other Hammers academy graduates two months ago.
Nallo broke into West Ham’s Under-18’s team last season despite being just 16 years of age. It is understood he caught the eye of Liverpool’s extensive scouting system towards the end of last season.
Romano shared the bad news in a Tweet which read: “Understand Liverpool are in talks to sign new young talent for Academy — 2006 born centre back Amara Nallo from West Ham.
“Negotiations ongoing with Liverpool.”
The news has since been corroborated by numerous Anfield media outlets. Jurgen Klopps team are well known for signing young, promising players who they believe can make the step up.
The news will be a big blow to Mark Noble who has been mandated with progressing youth players to the first team. Whilst there is an excellent crop of talent within the FA Youth Cup winning squad, this loss will be a blow.
It is thought that Nallo may be able to make the step from defence to midfield.
