West Ham United could sign Jonathan Tah for an absolute bargain fee this summer it seems.
According to Sky Germany, Bayer Leverkusen are demanding just £17 million for West Ham target Jonathan Tah in the summer transfer window.

The East London outfit have been heavily linked with a move to sign the 27-year-old German for quite some time now, and he recently claimed that he wants to move to the Premier League.
Hammers boss David Moyes needs to sign a new central defender this summer.
A move for Tah seems like a no-brainer, but there’s definitely more to this than meets the eye…

Sky Germany are claiming that the Hammers are still interested in the 27-year-old centre-back, with Bayer Leverkusen demanding £17 million for his signature.
Unfortunately for us, I still don’t think West Ham will sign him for that kind of money. It wouldn’t make any sense because if Moyes genuinely wanted him, he would have activated his £15 million release clause – one that has now expired – earlier this month.
Why would the Hammers reject the chance to sign the German for £15 million but jump at the chance of bringing him in for £17 million?
The only plausible reason I can think of is that when the Leverkusen ace’s release clause was active, we hadn’t sold Declan Rice at the time.
So maybe the West Ham owners didn’t have the cash to activate Jonathan Tah’s release clause, nobody really knows.
What I will say is that it’s highly unlikely the Hammers will be signing the Germany international this summer, as far as I’m concerned. And that’s a big shame in my opinion.
