West Ham hold talks to sign ‘absolutely rapid’ Ian Maatsen from Chelsea
According to the Daily Mail, the Hammers are very keen to sign the talented 21-year-old from London rivals Chelsea this summer.
Maatsen has the basic ingredients needed to go on and become a truly elite left-back in the Premier League.
Described as an ‘absolutely rapid’ left-back by Talk Chelsea, Maatsen seems to be exactly the kind of player we need at West Ham.
The youngster spent last season on loan with Burnley and bagged four goals and six assists in 39 Championship outings (Who Scored).
He has absolutely everything that we’re currently lacking at the moment.
Ian Maatsen is exceptionally fast, and is a really good defender but he’s very good going forward as well.
He obviously isn’t proven in the Premier League though, so it remains to be seen whether David Moyes is willing to take a punt on him.
