Former Bayer Leverkusen attacker Leon Bailey will experience a little déjà vu when he looks across the pitch on Wednesday.
Waiting for him will be his old nemesis from his time in the Bundesliga, Bayern Munich. Needless to say, Bailey knows there is a tough task ahead of Aston Villa in the Champions League.
“It’s a big game, Villa Park is going to be exciting to see. We know Bayern have been brilliant in the Champions League for years and we are trying to be that team which plays in Europe regularly again. These are the teams you want to face. This is what we have been working for, to be playing in the Champions League and against these big teams. The message to the fans is just give us the best support you can and we will do the best we can to get the win,” Bailey told Birmingham Live (as captured by @iMiaSanMia).
Bayern Munich might be a bit vulnerable given that Harry Kane’s status is in doubt, but is Aston Villa going to have enough juice to knock off a giant?
