In an interview with ranSport’s Martin Volkmar, Bayern Munich board member for sport Max Eberl gave a very curious response when asked about potential contract extension with Alphonso Davies (as captured by @iMiaSanMia):
• Alphonso Davies turned 24. Are there chances he will turn 25 next year as a Bayern player?
Eberl: “The chances are there”
That is very curious, especially considering the recent news that FC Barcelona, Real Madrid, and Manchester United could be in a heated competition for the Canadian. Could Bayern Munich really be able to ink the rejuvenated left-back?
Maybe, but it still feels like a longshot. There is rumored to be heat between Bayern Munich and the agent for Davies, Nick Huoseh, and those aforementioned clubs might not just be rumors. All three could be legitimate.
Real Madrid has been linked with Davies for over a year now. FC Barcelona has the man, who unlocked Davies in Hansi Flick, and Manchester United is, well, desperate.
Is it possible? Sure. Is it likely? That is much tougher to discern.
