Our predicted MUFC XI for the 2022/23 Premier League home game vs Chelsea is now in.
Manchester United and Chelsea have played out plenty of draws over the last few seasons. In this scenario, a point will be a superb result for the Red Devils, with a draw all that’s needed to secure Champions League football.
Erik ten Hag’s side have positioned themselves well to this point, though they still have to finish the job and ensure of their place in the premier European competition.
No doubt Frank Lamprd’s men will come to Old Trafford looking to prove a point, with United having to be fully aware of their talent and ability. The lads cannot take anything for granted. They have to go out there and get the job done.
With that in mind, we suspect a strong starting line-up will be named by the boss. So let’s get right into it.
Check out our predicted MUFC XI vs Chelsea in full here:
David de Gea starts in between the sticks, with the Spaniard certainly playing better during the weekend just gone.
Aaron Wan-Bissaka starts at right-back, with the Englishman in excellent form. Luke Shaw has looked super sharp at left-back, with Raphael Varane returning to the centre-back position, alongside Victor Lindelof.
Casemiro scored the sole goal against Bournemouth, during a Man of the Match display. He’ll partner Christian Eriksen in the deeper midfield role. Bruno Fernandes will be involved in the XI from the off, starting in that number ten slot.
Marcus Rashford returns! He is back in training following both illness and injury, giving this United attack more firepower. Wout Weghorst will start in place of Anthony Martial, who stropped off down the tunnel over the weekend. Antony makes up the XI.
