Erik ten Hag has been full of praise for Aaron Wan-Bissaka, who has improved a lot this season.
Manchester United Football Club are moving in a positive direction under Erik ten Hag, though the Red Devils have to finish the job this evening and secure their place in the Champions League.
A point at home to Chelsea will do the trick. It’d no doubt be a morale boost for the dressing room, ahead of an FA Cup showdown against Manchester City.
One man who has certainly enjoyed the change in regime, particularly recently, is Aaron Wan-Bissaka. The Englishman started the season playing second fiddle to Diogo Dalot, while last summer, ‘The Spider’ was up for sale.
That may no longer be the case, with Ten Hag full of praise for the United man who has ‘improved a lot’ this season.
Wan-Bissaka has certainly refined the attacking aspect of his game, while maintaining that ability to go 1v1 against any attacker in the world and coming out on top.
Here’s what Erik ten Hag had to say on Aaron Wan-Bissaka in full:
“He has improved a lot, as many players have improved during the season,” Ten Hag told club media, per the MEN.
“That’s one of the jobs for a manager and the coaching staff, to get that done [improve players] and we are really happy with it, that players are developing.
“Always the team spirit is the base and if players understand that, if they can set their egos aside, then you will see that the team develops and progresses.
“And then within the team’s progress, individuals make a lot of progress and Aaron is definitely one of them.”
I’d prefer it if we kept Wan-Bissaka around. The right-back certainly offers something different to the aforementioned Dalot, meaning the pair complement each other really nicely.
Wan-Bissaka may not be the loudest figure in that dressing room, though he’s certainly making a positive impact on the pitch – which is where it matters most.
With funds set to be limited this summer, keep Wan-Bissaka here, keeping large emphasis on signing a new attacker, rather than having to worry about bringing in a player in an area that isn’t of particular importance right now.
I understand that Wan-Bissaka could potentially fetch a decent transfer fee this summer, but I firmly believe he’s a valuable asset to have in those matches against the top six where United will look to sit back and play on the counter.
Either way, this is massive praise from Ten Hag, who is seemingly having a change of heart in regard to Wan-Bissaka.
