Update — November 11th, 7:50AM EST: Palhinha could miss three weeks
According to Sky Sport journalist Kerry Hau, Bayern Munich midfielder João Palhinha could miss three weeks:
Bitter loss for FC Bayern: After an initial examination in Portugal, João Palhinha (adductor injury) is expected to be out for around three weeks. @SkySportDE @SkySportNews
Bayern Munich midfielder João Palhinha has withdrawn from the Portuguese national team due a groin injury.
Palhinha has been starting for Bayern Munich due to the broken collarbone suffered by Aleksandar Pavlović, but this injury could push Leon Goretzka or Konrad Laimer back into the mix with Joshua Kimmich in Bayern Munich’s central midfield (via FCBayern.com):
FC Bayern’s João Palhinha has been forced to withdraw from the Portugal squad ahead of their UEFA Nations League matches against Poland (15 Nov 2024, 20:45 CET) and Croatia (18 Nov 2024, 20:45 CET). The midfielder is suffering from a groin problem and will return to Munich for further treatment.
Surely, this will be a situation that fans — and the club — will be monitoring closely in the coming days.
