Bayern Munich legend Uli Hoeneß is all smiles as the Bundesliga powerhouse continues its strong run this season. One could call it overconfidence, and maybe jinxing it, but the board member plans to kick back and relax.
In a recent interview (captured by @iMiaSanMia), he expressed his satisfaction, saying, “As good as it gets. After a long time, we can finally sit back and relax – the other clubs are the ones who are worried.”
And he’s got a point. Bayern is on fire this season, albeit with the occasional fumble. The Bavarians have racked up 33 goals in just 10 Bundesliga matches, averaging more than 3 goals per game despite an xG of 22.7. Harry Kane, the club’s new superstar, is already proving his worth, netting 11 goals and providing 5 assists in his 10 Bundesliga appearances. Jamal Musiala, the fountain of surprises, is upping his game every matchday, and is proving to be, arguably, the clubs greatest asset.
With Bayern sitting comfortably at the top of the table, their usual title challengers are struggling to keep up. Borussia Dortmund and Bayer Leverkusen have already dropped points in crucial matches, allowing Bayern to establish an early lead.
Uli Hoeneß, known for his vocal (sometimes controversial) opinions and high expectations, seems genuinely at ease. And with stats like these, who can blame him? It’s a rare sight to see the Bayern legend kicking back, but as it stands, the other Bundesliga teams are the ones sweating it out.
