West Ham United play host to Crystal Palace in the Premier League on Saturday, and Graham Potter has been speaking to the press ahead of the match.
There is new-found optimism emanating from the London Stadium right now, after West Ham decided to bring in Graham Potter to replace the hapless Julen Lopetegui.
Since Potter’s arrival, the Hammers were unlucky to lose away at Aston Villa in the FA Cup, and earned a really hard-fought three points against Fulham in the Premier League.
There is a very bright future ahead for West Ham, and a win against Palace this weekend would put us right back in the mix in the race for the European places.
After such a disastrous start to the season, things are looking a lot more promising now.
Crystal Palace will be no pushovers though, and the West Ham players will have to be on top form to beat them.
Potter has so many key players out injured right now, and he has just provided a concerning update on one of them.
Graham Potter confirms West Ham man could miss Crystal Palace
The Hammers could be on the verge of completely turning things around it seems.
Three points against Palace and we will be absolutely flying.
However, we do have some big injury concerns in the attacking department, with Jarrod Bowen, Michail Antonio and Niclas Fullkrug all definitely out.
And Crysencio Summerville is a big doubt as well it seems.
Potter provided an injury update when speaking to reporters on Thursday, as quoted by WHUFC.com:
“We’re still waiting a little bit on Cree,” Potter confirmed. “We’ll probably have to make a late decision. The game might come too soon, but we’ll see. There is still a bit of time.”
Not being able to call upon Summerville would be a big blow for the Hammers, especially considering how many other attacking players we currently have out injured.
The 23-year-old looked really lively before picking up an injury away at Aston Villa.
He is one of the few players we have who possesses blistering pace.
It would make a huge difference for West Ham if we had Crysencio Summerville to call upon against Crystal Palace this weekend.
Let’s hope that he’s passed fit for the game.
