According to a report from kicker (as captured by @iMiaSaMia), Bayern Munich might have surged in front of Eintracht Frankfurt and RB Leipzig in the sweepstakes for Hoffenheim midfielder Tom Bischof.
As luck would have it, Bayern Munich will square off with Hoffenheim on Wednesday, which could allow the two sides to have a quick chat after the match:
‘Insiders’ believe that Tom Bischof is leaning towards joining FC Bayern. A decision could be made after Wednesday’s game between Bayern and Hoffenheim. With each passing day and each further defeat, Hoffenheim’s chances of convincing Bischof to extend his contract are diminishing.
Reports that Bayern are planning to loan Bischof out are inaccurate. Should he join, he’s expected to replace Leon Goretzka in the squad. Frankfurt and RB Leipzig are the other interested teams.
Simply put, Bischof is a value buy and a move that Bayern Munich should seriously consider. However, the Bavarians must avoid buying Bischof if the club truly has no plan for him. With this report, it does sound as if Bayern Munich has a role in mind, but will there be enough minutes for the youngster to continue his development?
