According to a report from Sport Bild journalists Christian Falk and Tobi Altschäffl (as captured by @iMiaSanMia), Bayern Munich might be opening up to the possibility of a release clause for Jamal Musiala.
After some initial doubt that the club would cede anything on that front, it does appear that Bayern Munich could be willing to compromise:
More details about a potential release clause for Musiala:
Bayern are said to be willing to make concessions regarding a release clause – for the first time. If Musiala signs for five years, variable clauses would be included.
The clause kicks in two years before the end of the contract and would be worth around €175m, and then goes down to an estimated €100m one year before the end of the contract. This is a concession that Bayern can live with due to the important size of the release clause
The contract has not yet been finalized, but both sides have indicated that they want to reach an agreement soon. Bayern are very optimistic.
This is an interesting development for Bayern Munich as it has steadfastly against release clauses in the past.
Is this the right move for the club?
